Christmas Gifts For Mom, So Many Ways To Say I Love You!
A cruise, a new car, how about paying off Mom’s mortgage? You can subsidize that addition to her house that she has been wanting. How about a 5-Star, all expense paid trip to Europe? These would all make wonderful gifts, and certainly Mom is more than worthy. But just in case your budget cannot handle this right now, maybe we should look at other more affordable options as Christmas gifts for Mom this year.
First let’s remember that there is no gift that is too good or even good enough for your mom. Many of us have been badly hurt by the economy which has put a temporary crimp into our spending patterns. That’s OK, not to worry. We still have many excellent choices to consider as worthy Christmas gifts for Mom. The important thing about choosing a gift is to think it through, lighting on an object or activity that you know will bring joy to the person receiving it.
What do you think would give Mom a thrill? Has she dropped any hints lately? Have you been observing her habits? Does she have any new hobbies? Any new passions? Some old passions? Is there something she wants but has been hesitant to purchase because she is using the money for what she thinks is more practical?
She may be keeping her “wish list” private, but I can assure you, she has one. We all have an imaginary list that we would love to send to Santa if we could. If Mom doesn’t share her list, then you’re going to have to use some imaginative thinking to find the perfect, most “on target” Christmas gifts for Mom, to make her holiday memorable and full of magic.
Moms tend to put their own needs and desires last. It’s one of the most endearing qualities of motherhood and also a quality that concerns the people who love their moms. I always wanted my mom to have everything she wanted.
I would suggest choosing luxurious, pampered gifts for Mom, the kinds of things she wouldn’t splurge on for herself. For example, one time, I bought my mom a consultation and beauty treatment at a very fine hair salon in New York. Mom was naturally very beautiful, but she needed a new “look”, something that could be provided only by a great hair stylist. She was “turned out” that day, and went from beautiful to gorgeous in one afternoon. And she looked about 10 years younger. She was so happy.
Another wonderful gift is a stay at a luxurious spa. It could be just a day of treatment: massage, facial, pedicure, manicure, warm stones treatment, and a delicious healthy lunch. You can even go with her. That would make it even more fun for her.
When you are thinking about Christmas gifts for Mom, consider the glam and recreational value of a weekend for two at a deluxe inn, plus meals at a couple great restaurants near the inn. The weekend could be for your mom and dad together.
Jewelry is always a perfect gift. Of course, your choice depends on your mom’s taste. Some people love rings, some prefer bracelets, some love earrings. How about considering an unusual gold or silver bracelet from an estate sale? Maybe Mom would like something retro, art deco or a romantic piece from the Belle Epoch era: early 1900’s.
If your mom is a cook, there is some superb professional cooking equipment available, such as the All-Clad pots, Alessi, and Emile Henry clay cookware. It’s not as romantic as a brooch from La Belle Epoch, but if cooking is her passion Mom will love receiving a fine addition to her culinary arsenal.
Does she like chocolate? Among all of your ideas for Christmas gifts for Mom, remember how we ladies love chocolate. To make it particularly special, order an exquisite box of superior artisan chocolates, freshly made and flown in from France. The French are geniuses with chocolate.
These are just a few suggestions of luxurious Christmas gifts for mom. Whatever you choose, no flannel pajamas this year. Yeah, I know, we all love cozy pajamas, but does that have goddess appeal? Of course not.
Wish you all, and your moms, a very happy holiday!
